Who We Are
GP Care is an established provider of high quality clinical services to NHS and Private Patients within Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.
Our Relationship With The NHS
Our primary focus is on delivering diagnostic, outpatient and ancillary services for NHS Patients. We have worked closely with local NHS commissioners on multiple initiatives since 2006 with a view to significantly improving pathways for patients and delivering cost savings to the NHS. As a result of our collaborative, friendly and successful approach we now have multiple NHS clinical service contracts and continue to broaden our range of services via ongoing transparent relationships with NHS commissioners.
Our experience is that much of the potential for improving pathways for NHS Patients comes not from changing the clinical care or the clinicians who provide it but by tackling the generally poor adminstration pathways that reside within the NHS and which can cause such confusion and frustration for patients and clinicians alike.
GP Care is experienced and successful at reworking these administration pathways, introducing the latest technological developments, and wherever possible harnessing these with the very high quality clinical expertise that generally resides within the local NHS teams. As a consequence we are generally able to offer:
- High Quality Clinical Care - using experienced local NHS clinicians;
- Efficient Service Design - minimising the number of appointments that a patient needs to attend, using 'one-stop' clinic approaches wherever possible and appropriate;
- Quick Access for Patients - aiming to see patients within 14 days even for non urgent conditions;
- Easy Access for Patients - providing services from community locations close to patients' homes and have free parking facilities;
- Cost savings for the NHS - sharing cost efficiencies with commissioners; and
- Continual Service Improvement - via ongoing dialogue with patients and GPs who provide valuable feedback on our services.
All of our staff are local NHS Patients and we are passionate about delivering improvements to NHS patient care.
Our Services To Private Patients
We also offer a range of diagnostic, outpatient and ancillary services to Private Patients where patients cannot access treatment under the NHS.
We develop services for Private Patients only where we can provide a high quality service at radically lower prices than are available elsewhere on a private basis. We are able to do this on account of our comprehensive links with GP Practices across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire who are able to provide expertise in many specialist areas as well as providing access to an unparallelled network of some 100 practice premises from which we can provide services.
Our Patient Values
GP Care's key patient values are:
- Services are always designed around the Patient - services that are well managed, efficient, convenient and accessible for patients are generally cost effective for commissioners;
- We treat patients with kindness, dignity and respect - as if we were talking to a friend or relative about an important matter;
- We always talk to Patients - we don't make appointments without direct verbal contact and Patients are provided with a telephone contact number for each service, all of which are answered personally and promptly. We don't like automated voice systems and we don't use them;
- Keeping referring GPs informed - all of our services provide GPs with discharge reports within 24 hours of an appointment as we believe this is critical to ensuring they are fully informed should a Patient refer to them for continuing advice or support.
