GP Care's Flu Vaccination Service receives record bookings as patients seek to ensure access to vaccine

Following the shortage of the combined Seasonal Flu and Swine Flu vaccine last year, GP Care is experiencing strong demand early in the flu season.

Roger Tweedale, GP Care CEO commented that "last year there was a Swine Flu panic in December and January and the phone was ringing off the wall with patients searching for vaccine; it was a very distressing time for patients who were unable to get vaccinations and a challenging time for our staff who were handling enormous call volumes and arranging additional clinics where supplies allowed. The advice this year is that if you are going to have a vaccination then get it early in the season as this ensures that protection is not delayed and increases the chance of vaccine supplies being available."

The GP Care service provides vaccinations at over 15 clinic locations across the wider Bristol area during daytime, evenings and weekends, making it convenient for patients to attend. Vaccinations are provided at health centres with nurses and doctors on site and details of the vaccination are then passed on to patients' registered GPs in order that their medical records are appropriately updated.

Should patients wish to make a booking for a flu vaccination, which includes protection for Seasonal Flu and Swine Flu, then they should call the GP Care Flu Service team on 0333 332 2100 or email us at
