Since commencing service delivery in early 2011, the GP Care Hand Surgery Service has been offering NHS patients rapid access to surgical treatment for the following hand conditions:
- Carpal Tunnel
- Dupuytrens' Contracture
- Trigger Finger
- Ganglia
The surgery is performed by highly experienced local NHS Plastic Surgeons within a brand new specialist surgical facility in Bristol. The Service has received consistently excellent feedback from patients and GPs for both its quality of clinical care and the efficiency of the patient pathway and has a reported average wait from referral receipt to sugery of less than 14 days.
As with all NHS services, the Hand Surgery Service is free to patients. We are pleased to report that this service is provided to NHS commissioners at a very signficant cost saving to that paid previously.
