GP Care’s Community Hand Surgery Service for NHS Bristol patients has been in operation for just over a year and is now an established pathway with 82% of Bristol practices having referred patients to the Service for:
• Carpal Tunnel
• Dupuytren’s Contracture
• Trigger Finger (exceptional funding not required)
• Ganglia
The majority of referrals are for Carpal Tunnel Release where the Service provides the following benefits:
• 100% of patients are offered appointments within 7 days
• Consultation and treatment all within a single day – extended one stop
• Excellent surgical facilities in the centre of Bristol
• NHS consultant surgeons providing the care
• 40% cost saving to commissioners
Patients have consistently rated the service overall as Excellent. Feedback from patients discharged so far this month includes:
