GP Care are working in partnership with Bristol Community Health (BCH) to deliver a community-based Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound Service for their team of therapists. Since GP Care took over delivery of the service in November, we have received over 100 patient referrals, following triage at MATS (Musculoskeletal Assessment and Treatment Service).
Patients are offered a choice of convenient community clinics for an assessment ultrasound, with the outcome reported back to the BCH team within 24 hours of their appointment. The BCH therapist will then decide on the most appropriate course of treatment - in some cases the patients return to the service to receive an ultrasound guided injection.
The MSK Ultrasound Service covers a wide range of complaints, from shoulder injuries to plantar fasciitis, and the early feedback from patients has been very encouraging. These are some of the comments we have already received:
"Friendly staff and an explanation of the examination was reassuring during my visit
"Dealt with swiftly & professionally"
"Very informative & helpful staff. All questions answered. Very pleased"
- "I was very satisfied with the clinic"
