GP Care expands and now has four key lines of business

GP Care’s business is now growing steadily and has been aligned into four key lines of business including: Services to NHS Patients; Services to Private Patients; Pharmacy Services; and Member Services.

Services to NHS Patients

Delivery of diagnostic and outpatient services to NHS patients, via contracts with Primary Care Trusts, performed in community settings such as specialist clinics and GP surgeries. Successes in this service area include the new Urology Service for patients in South Gloucestershire.

Services to Private Patients

Delivery of diagnostic and outpatient services to private patients where procedures are not funded by the NHS, performed in community settings such as specialist clinics and GP surgeries. Successes in this service area include the growing minor surgery service, the private flu vaccination programme and the newly launched HPV vaccination service.

Pharmacy Services

The provision of pharmacy services direct to the consumer at home or work and also via ‘bricks and mortar’ pharmacies within South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset PCT areas, and ultimately leading to greater integration of primary care and pharmacy. Successes in this service area include the launch of GP Care Pharmacy - a new joint venture initiative with an experienced pharmacy operator.

Member Services

Member services currently include: surgery insurance; payroll bureau services; website design and development; health & safety consultancy; and employment law consultancy. Additional services to be launched shortly include: practice management consultancy; motor and home insurance; and financial services including pensions and life assurance.
