Our Urology Service is going paperless!

In line with the National “Paper Switch Off” campaign, the GP Care Community Urology Service that we deliver across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Gloucestershire, will be ‘going paperless’ from the 1st January 2019.  This means that only referrals submitted for our Urology Service via the electronic referrals system (eRS) will be accepted.  All emailed/faxed referrals will no longer be accepted after this date.

This positive change will help to relieve the burden on GPs by cutting down on their paperwork.  The system also reduces the risk of referral paperwork going missing and doctors will be able to track their patients’ referrals and the outcomes better.  It will also mean that both referring GPs and GP Care will be able to carry out full audits on referrals as and when needed.

If you have any queries or feedback about the Community Urology Service, please do not hesitate to contact the Service Lead, Heidi Loader, on 0333 332 2102 or email heidi.loader@gpcare.org.uk.
