GP Care Pharmacy announces a £450k investment programme

GP Care Pharmacy Limited has completed its annual strategic review and is now implementing this year’s action plan to focus on its core business and continue to build on the strength of its brand within the local healthcare economy.

The key initiative for the coming year is a £450k investment programme to redevelop the five pharmacies in North Somerset and rebrand them from "Skeeles" to "GP Care". Funding for this programme will be available from existing banking facilities. The board has also taken the decision to either close or dispose of two pharmacies (Stoke Bishop and Eastville) as they are not profitable.
The six remaining GP Care pharmacies at Nailsea (2), Backwell, Long Ashton, Pill and Thornbury continue to trade well and our operational team continues to work hard to further improve customer service . Work is also ongoing with regard to securing additional pharmacy licences and we would like to remind all GP practices that they should contact GP Care with any opportunities that they would like the Business Development team to review.
GP Care Pharmacy’s vision of working closely with primary care remains core to our strategy and all ideas as to how we can integrate with general practice to improve patient care are most welcome.
