GP Care was invited to present at the Primary Care & Public Health 2014 conference held at the NEC, Birmingham on Thursday 22nd May. The event was well attended and this was a perfect opportunity to showcase the expanding range of services that GP Care offers.
Cath McCarthy, non-executive Director at GP Care, presented on the changing face of primary care, the range of services we offer and the opportunities it offers for innovation and enterprise if the model for delivery is right.
We were also able to focus on one of our more unusual service – The Prison Ultrasound Service. Lina Middleton, Service Lead for the Community DVT Service, presented at the “Supporting Pregnant Women in Prison” session. Using our award winning Prison Ultrasound Service that we run at Eastwood Park Prison as an example, Lina showed perfectly how innovation can work at its best, keeping the patient experience at the heart of change, even in a custodial environment, whilst also making savings to the Commissioners.
