GP Care Urology Service for NHS Bristol completes a successful first year

GP Care’s consultant led, 'one-stop', Community Urology Service for NHS Bristol patients has completed a successful first year of delivering care to NHS patients. This service, which is delivered from a network of health centres and specialist clinics across Bristol, is provided in association with University Hospitals Bristol Foundation Trust, North Bristol Trust and Bristol Community Health and is a truly collaborative service.

Key data:
• Over 1500 patients seen with an average waiting time of 10 days for urgent (2WW) patients and 14.6 days overall;
• 100% of discharge reports sent to referring GPs on same day as the appointment;
• Very positive feedback from patients and GPs (see below).

Some patient comments:

“From GP referral date to the completion of my appt locally at Fishponds. I can only describe the experience as ideal in all respects - definitely the way forward.”

“The service I was given was excellent. Thank you all very much.”

“Many thanks, the whole experience of CUS was excellent, especially when compared to attending any large hospital. It was light, airy & very friendly. I felt safe - so important when you are feeling vulnerable.”

“I was very happy with the service that was given to me. I saw the Dr and he explained everything before and after the biopsy. I was very happy with the care given to me at the time.”

“Very friendly, professional and convenient service.”

We look forward to be of continuing service to NHS Bristol patients.
