The GP Care Deep Vein Thrombosis ("DVT") Service comprises diagnosis and treatment of potential or actual DVTs.
The Service is wholly primary care based including the provision of: near-patient blood tests at patients' registered practice; same or next day ultrasound scans from community-based locations; and community based anticoagulation for patients with confirmed DVTs.
The Service represents a significant improvement in the Patient Pathway and delivers a substantial saving to the NHS.
