Clinic location
The service is delivered in association with Bristol Plastic Surgery at its prestigious private surgical clinic in the heart of Bristol at 58 Queen Square. Hand Surgery is performed by GP Care's Hand Surgeons who are experienced and highly regarded local NHS Consultants.

Booking an appointment
If you have any questions or would like to make a booking please call GP Care on 0845 468 2107 or alternatively email us at info@gpcare.org.uk.
In order to accept you as a patient, we will need a referral letter or fax from your GP; this is standard practice. We will agree a suitable appointment date and time with you; we can normally offer you an appointment within 2 weeks. You will then be sent a letter confirming your appointment together with an information leaflet explaining what you can expect to happen during and following your surgery.
Our dedicated service team is available Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 6.00pm.
What will happen during my appointment?
You will be seen by the Hand Surgeon who will be performing your surgery. The Hand Surgeon will assess whether you are suitable for this specific surgery and will explain the procedure to you. It is important that you understand the operation including any risks and possible complications. You will then be required to sign a consent form before your surgery.
You will be advised of the scheduled time for your surgery. This will usually be on the same day but may not be immediately after your consultation; surgery will normally begin within 3 hours of your consultation. The operation will involve only a local anaesthetic, so patients will be awake throughout and usually can ask questions while it is taking place.
Where is surgery performed?
The consultation and surgery will take place at a specialist clinic with new, high specification operating suite in Queen Square, Bristol. The operating theatre, which is suitable for procedures involving local and regional anaesthesia, also includes a patient waiting and changing area and a pre-operative and post-operative recovery room.
You will be advised when to make an appointment at your GP practice for the removal of stitches. This will normally be between 10 days to 2 weeks after your operation.
