The service
GP Care provides pregnancy reassurance scans to prospective mothers from 7 weeks gestation at a variety of local clinic locations across Bristol. The cost of £70 includes a 20 minute appointment and photo images to keep.
Why would you want a reassurance scan?
If you have had a previous miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy you will naturally be anxious about your pregnancy. Perhaps this is your first experience of pregnancy or you want a scan before one is available through the NHS. You may just want to be assured that your pregnancy is progressing as expected.
Studies have shown that fetal health anxiety is relieved by ultrasound, particularly when women are able to see the image of their baby and receive encouraging verbal feedback from an ultrasonographer.
Please note that this is a pregnancy reassurance service to assess fetal well being. It is not an OSCAR scan for nuchal translucency measurement.

We have established links with hospital teams and, where necessary, help you to arrange follow-on appointments.
Our ultrasonographers are highly experienced and fully accredited by the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council). We treat all patients with the utmost dignity and respect and all of our staff are both professional and discreet.
The cost
The cost of the Service is just £70 per patient for the appointment. The ultrasound team will be happy to provide you with images of the scan at no extra charge.

- Yate, South Gloucestershire - West Walk Surgery, Yate West Gate Centre, 21 West Walk, Yate, Bristol, BS37 4AX.

Notes
Unfortunately, in a small number of cases, the outcome of the pregnancy scan may not be good news. In this instance we would ask your permission to contact your GP practice.
