From the 1st September 2018 GP Care will cease providing NHS Adult Hearing services in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. This includes hearing assessments, provision of hearing aids and associated consumables such as batteries.
We have made this decision as part of our renewed focus on supporting secondary and primary care to manage waiting list pressures in specialities such as urology, DVT, cardiology, diabetes and gastroenterology. We are very proud of the service we have offered since 2013 but we are now in the process of implementing our exit strategy for the current contract.
Patients currently on our pathway will be transferred to a new provider. They will be able to select a provider from a list of accredited and qualified providers in their area which will allow for continuous access to NHS hearing services as and when required. All the providers on the list have passed an accreditation process to ensure that they are able to provide high quality care.
